5 Ways to Help Yourself Feel Motivated When You’re Not Feeling It

Imagine this. you have a long list of goals that you need to achieve soon or you will be in trouble. You know the severity of the condition but you just don’t feel like doing anything. Whenever you force yourself to get up and do it, you find yourself laying on the couch again and just dwelling in laziness. When you look at a task and it’s gigantic, it is natural to feel like not doing it. So try breaking down the big task into a few smaller ones. This will help you in seeing it as a bunch of small tasks and you will feel motivated to finish the smaller ones instead of dealing with the big one alone.

3. Have a Break

If you want to feel motivated to finish your work, then you have to make sure that you are not putting yourself under a lot of pressure. This can result in demotivation for long intervals of time. Take a relaxing break. Watch your favorite TV show or sit in a hot tub for a while. When you feel energized, you can get back to work.

4. Keep Your Focus on One Thing

You always need to finish something first to get started. If you are looking at the work you have to do as a pile of tasks, you will get stressed out naturally and feel no motivation at all. In this case, all you need to do is focus on the task that is most important to you and then finish the rest.

5. Treat Yourself

This is a method of getting motivated when you don’t even feel like getting up from your couch. It has worked for a lot of people and will work for you as well. Set a reward for yourself that you can win once you have finished doing everything. This will create motivation for you as you can eat your favorite chocolate or go to the mall.
